Updates to guidance on forced labour reporting
Public Safety Canada has updated its guidance to make the reporting process clearer and easier to follow. These updates are minor clarifications only. They do not change the reporting requirements.
Key updates include:
- Clarifying minor dealings: Added guidance to help organizations know when reporting is required
- Improved transparency: More detail on the review process before reports appear in the library catalogue
- Attestation requirements: Clarified acceptable signature formats to prevent delays
- Protecting personal information: Reports containing personal information will not be published and must be corrected
- International template support: Added examples to help entities meet legislative requirements and improve reporting over time
Reports prepared using previous versions of this guidance will continue to be accepted through the online questionnaire.
